I’ve been shopping around for Easter dress ideas. I think that this obsession is kind of a hold over from child-hood. On par with paper dolls and dress up.

I really like this dress from Isaac Mizrahi. When I saw the price, I liked it even more!

The details:

Someone complained about the fabric being a little to “stiff” which sounds exactly right to me.

I may be crazy (if so, just go head and let me know – it’ll do me good) but I think I’d wear it with these Gorette Ballet Flats by Arturo Chiang:

And of course, since Easter is in early March, I’d have to have a cardigan. This one from Jaden is nearly perfect. And since all my accessories will be gold, the peachy color is just right.

And to finish the dreamy look, I’d have to carry this clutch, even if it wouldn’t hold very many diapers. It’s by (surprise!) another Etsy seller, “oktak” who seems to have the funnest assortment of purses around.

It seems like it might be so – I don’t know – Mayberry-ish! Dreamy, sweet, springlike…everything an Easter ensemble should be.

I think some of the best vintage inspired dresses are for babies and toddlers. I really wanted to copy this one from Olive Juice:

You remember that dress that needed the perfect cardigan? Well, I found it.

It’s very vintage-y. I love the big button and three-quarter length sleeves. And I always lean a little toward the chunky side when it comes to sweaters, so this really would be the perfect cardigan for me. In a dream world.

In that same dream world, I’d also own these shoes.

And, since we’re only fantasizing here – I’d even be able to walk in them. And maybe even do the Lindy Hop!

I’d wear them with either of the last two dresses I featured. Heck, I’d even wear them in my nightie, since we’ve already established that I would be able to walk in them. I forgot to mention that I’d need to be able to walk gracefully. Think that’s too much to ask?

The shoes came from Remix Vintage Shoes. I hate to admit it, but I can’t remember where the cardigan came from. If you recognize it, please let me know!

Another nearly perfect dress! This one is from April Cornell. Here’s what they have to say about it:

This dress is really the reason that I started this blog. I, like so many other women that I know, love the 1950s era of tiny floral print, full skirts, and fitted bodice. In short, the height of feminine elegance. I tire of looking for vintage inspired dresses only to be able to find tattooed models wearing poorly made polyester imitations of the lovely retro styles. So, this blog is dedicated to proving that there is a faction (no matter how small) of women who like to wear vintage inspired clothing for the elegance and freshness of the style.

It reminds me of a June Cleaver dress. It’s just the right amount of elegance combined with a simple practicality. Yup, I’d even vacuum in it!
